Ans. Protein is a one of major macronutrient need for bodily functions like muscle build up, tissue repairs, and enzymes, hormones and antibody formation. Protein supplements help stomach full for longer period their by reduction in food consumption helps in weight loss, and it also improves muscle size and strength in healthy adult who want build their body

14. What are the low calorie breakfast?

Ans. Low calorie breakfast recipes are great in taste, low in calories helps in loose weight. Some of them are vegetable and grain porridges, scrambled egg, vegetable omellete, vegetable dosa, tandoori gobi, oats idli, cabbage roti and so on.

15. What are the benefits of Dietary fibre?

Ans. The nutrient which is not metabolise by guts is called fibre. Fibre foods are bran, whole grains, vegetables, fruits, lentils, legumes, and nuts. Ans. Gluten is a protein which present in wheat, rye, barley, Triticale and its flours. Gluten free means foods which doesn’t consist the mentioned foods. Gluten free diet help in the management of celiac disease signs and symptoms.

29. Nutritional fact label means?

Ans. Nutrition food label provides an information about ingredients and nutrient content such as calories, protein, fat, carbohydrate, fibre, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium and/or other nutrients present in it.

30. What are the Iron rich foods?

Nutritionist interview questions are provided here. The person who has educational background of Masters in Food, and Nutrition, they called as Nutritionist. He/she can guide people on healthy food and nutrition to gain their optimum health status, healthy goals such as muscular gain, weight loose and maintenance. They can work in wellness centres, slim clinics, gyms and fitness centres, and now a day many corporate companies are hiring nutritionist on the concern of health status of their employees. The following interview questioned are framed for those who want build their career in these fields and to crack job.

Nutritionist interview questions are as follows

1. What are the fruits and vegetables liberal in weight reduction diet?

Ans. Fruits and vegetables are generally low in calories, high in fibre and rich in antioxidant, which helps to lose weight.

Fruits- Oranges, grapes, berries, Grape fruits, peaches, plum, cherries, apricot, kiwi fruit, melon

Vegetables- spinach, asparagus, leafy vegetables, broccoli, cabbage, mushroom, fresh beans, capsicum, pumpkin, carrot, cucumber and many others

2. Difference between BMR, BMI?

Ans.  Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) measures the number of calories body burns at rest state; whereas Body Mass Index (BMI) measures body size and give an idea about whether an individual has the correct weight for height.

Harris-Benedict equation:

For man : 66.5 + ( 13.75 × weight in kg ) + ( 5.003 × height in cm ) – ( 6.755 × age in years)

For woman:  BMR = 655.1 + ( 9.563 × weight in kg ) + ( 1.850 × height in cm ) – ( 4.676 × age in years )

Body Mass Index (BMI) = Weight (kg)/ Height (m2)

Ans. Proteins are essential for body, 10-30% of daily calories should come from proteins. Weight loss diet must include more than one number of protein sources pulses, legumes, lentils, fat free dairy products, eggs, white meat and sea foods.

4. What is 1200 calorie diet?

Ans. Overweight or obese person need to lose weight, it improves general health and lower the risk of diabetes, heart disease, joint disease, hypertension, cancer and many other diseases.

1,200 calories diet referred as low calorie diet, its a familiar weight lose diet. This diet provide calorie which required for the basic body function, rest of the calories body get from the stored body fat.

5. How many meals present in Diabetic diet?

Ans. A average diabetic diet consist four to six smaller meals in a day, it keeps free from hungry, maintain blood sugars.

6. Foods to excluded in hypothyroidism?

Ans. Goitrogens are compounds that may interfere with the normal function of the thyroid gland. The foods contain goitrogens are cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spinach, tofu, tempeh, sweet potatoes, peaches, strawberries, peanuts, etc.

7. Blood cholesterol values?

Ans. 

200 mg/dL or less is normal.

201 to 240 mg/dL is borderline risk of heart diseases.

More than 240 mg/dL is high risk of heart diseases.

8. Thyroid functional test and its values?

Ans. Thyroid function tests measures thyroid gland function

Serum Triiodothyronine (T3): 80-180 ng/dl

Serum thyroxine (T4): 4.6-12 ug/dl

Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH): 0.4 – 5.5 mU/mL

9. What is Lactose intolerance?

Ans. Lactose intolerance is a digestive disorder caused by the inability to digest lactose due to insufficient production of lactase from guts, results bloating, gas formation, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and constipation.

10. Foods to avoid in diabetes?

Ans. Foods rich in simple sugars such as glucose should avoided such as sweets, sugar, honey, maple syrup, sweetened beverages, dry fruits, ice creams, white bread, pasta and starched rice.

11. Antioxidant rich foods?

Ans. Antioxidants foods eliminates free radicals from body, may reduce the risk of heart disease, cancers and many other diseases. Most of plant foods are rich source in antioxidants mango, citrous fruit, apple, berries, kiwi fruit, water melon; carrot, spinach, parsley, capsicum, spinach, sweet potato, broccoli and mustard, ginger, garlic, thyme, and cinnamon, wholegrains, brans, green tea, and many others.

12. What is saturated fat and unsaturated fat?

Ans. Saturated fat had bad effect on the body compared to unsaturated fat. Saturated fat foods are animal foods like meat, cheese, butter, ghee, fried foods, it increases LDL level and risk of heart diseases.

Unsaturated fat foods are present in vegetable oils such as sunflower oil, safflower oil, corn oil, rice bran oil, soybean oils, olive oil, avocado, almond, cashew, sesame, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and it reduces the risk of heart diseases.
